There are 10 different types of race categories called classes, then a junior class and ladies class. The classes of car are defined by the various specifications of the car and any modifications they have.
There are main two types of vehicle that can be raced: cars and buggys. We will go into further detail below on each class but if you are thinking of creating or buying your own autograss car and have any queries or questions please feel free to contact us..
Class 1. Production Saloons
Engine Size: up to 1000cc
Modifications: None
Standard car but with full safety roll cage
Class 2. Restricted Saloons
​Engine Size: up to 1300cc
Modifications: Limited
Class currently dominated by Novas and Micras
Class 3. Front Engine RWD Saloons
​Engine Size: over 1420cc
Modifications: Limited
Vauxhaul "Red top" 2.0l engines are popular here, but other engines are allowed of course
Class 4. Modified Saloons
Engine Size: over 1130cc
Modifications: Many
Standard appearing cars with standard appearing engines and gearboxes. Unlimited tuning allowed.
Class 5. Modified Saloons
Engine Size: 1131 -1420cc
Modifications: Unlimited
No turbo charging
Class 6. Modified FWD Saloons
Engine Size: over 1420cc
Modifications: Unlimited
FWD, saloons, hatchbacks etc.
Class 7. Modified RWD Saloons
Engine Size: over 1420cc
Modifications: Unlimited
Can use motorbike engines or car engines. Can be turbocharged.
Class 8. Specials (Buggys)
Engine Size: up to 1420cc
Modifications: Unlimited
Now dominated by Hayabusa motorbike engines at 1350cc
Class 9. Specials (Buggys)
Engine Size: 1420 - 2065
Modifications: Unlimited
Car engines only
Class 10. Specials (Buggys)
Engine Size: over 2065cc
Modifications: Unlimited
Unlimted RWD. Car or motorbike engines. Turbocharged / Supercharged
Juniors. Secials (Buggys)
Engine Size: up to 1200cc
Modifications: None
12 - 16 yrs . Vauxhaul engines only
Ladies. Every Class
Cars are placed on track according to car power
